Profhilo in Marylebone, London
The next generation of skin rejuvenation. Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid bioremodeller that stimulates collagen and elastin for radiant, plump skin without filler.
Book Consultation
Profhilo is not a dermal filler. It is a stabilised hyaluronic acid bioremodeller — a thermally cross-linked HA that spreads under the skin rather than staying at the injection site, and acts biologically to stimulate the production of collagen, elastin, and the patient's own hyaluronic acid. The result is not added volume but improved skin quality: tighter, more hydrated, more radiant skin that still looks unmistakably like you. Profhilo is injected at just five points per side of the face (the BAP technique) and the standard protocol is two sessions four weeks apart, repeated twice yearly for maintenance.

Common
questions
How long does Profhilo last?
Results from the starter course (2 sessions 4 weeks apart) peak around 8 to 10 weeks after the second session and last approximately 6 months. Most patients repeat the course twice yearly — once in spring and once in autumn is a common rhythm — to maintain the collagen and elastin stimulation. With consistent maintenance, results tend to compound and some patients stretch the interval to 8 months.
Is Profhilo suitable for all skin types?
Yes. Profhilo has published safety and efficacy data across all Fitzpatrick phototypes (I through VI) and does not carry the post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk that some laser treatments carry for darker skin. It is also used in pregnancy-adjacent skin changes and perimenopausal skin quality loss with good effect. The only absolute contraindications are pregnancy, breastfeeding, and active autoimmune disease flares.
What is the difference between Profhilo and dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are structural — they add volume at a specific site (lips, cheeks, jawline) and hold that shape for 12 to 18 months. Profhilo is biological — it spreads through tissue and stimulates your own collagen, elastin, and HA production, improving skin quality for approximately 6 months. Fillers change shape; Profhilo changes skin quality. Most patients over 40 benefit from both.
Can I combine Profhilo with other treatments?
Yes. Profhilo can be done on the same day as anti-wrinkle injections with no issue. Dermal fillers are typically spaced 2 weeks before or after Profhilo to allow each product to behave independently. Skin rejuvenation treatments (microneedling, peels, laser) should be spaced 2 weeks either side. Profhilo plus anti-wrinkle plus a skin rejuvenation course is a common 6-month protocol.
How many sessions do I need?
The manufacturer-recommended protocol is 2 sessions 4 weeks apart for the starter course, then maintenance sessions every 6 months thereafter. Some patients with significantly aged or sun-damaged skin benefit from a 3-session starter course in the first year; Dr Valentina will recommend based on your baseline. Maintenance can drop to once yearly with adjunct protocols.
What can I expect during treatment?
Each session takes 15 minutes: 5 minutes for topical numbing cream to take effect, 5 minutes for the 10 injections (5 per side at the BAP points), and 5 minutes for aftercare counselling. You will see small raised bumps at each injection point for 24 to 48 hours as the product spreads. Mild bruising occurs in around 15% of patients and can be covered with makeup after 4 hours.
