Anti-wrinkle injections Marylebone

Anti-wrinkle injections temporarily relax the small muscles responsible for dynamic facial lines — the horizontal forehead lines you see when you raise your eyebrows, the vertical "11" lines between your brows when you frown, and the crow's feet that fan out from the outer corner of each eye when you smile. Used preventatively in your thirties or correctively from your forties, the goal is always the same at this clinic: subtle, movement-preserving results that look like rested sleep, not like treatment.

Common
questions

How long does anti-wrinkle treatment last?

Results typically last 3 to 4 months in a first-time patient. With consistent treatment every 4 months, many patients find the interval stretches to 5 or 6 months as the treated muscles atrophy slightly from reduced use. Very active patients, those under 35, and those with fast metabolisms often metabolise the product faster and may see results last closer to 10 weeks.

Will I look frozen?

Not at this clinic. Dr Valentina's technique uses lower starting doses than most injectors, and the goal is always movement-preserving treatment. At the 2-week review, more product can be added if you want more relaxation — but adding is easier than removing, so the first treatment is deliberately conservative. Most patients describe the result as "rested" rather than "treated".

Can I prevent wrinkles with anti-wrinkle injections?

Preventative anti-wrinkle treatment is clinically valid for patients whose dynamic lines (visible during movement) are beginning to etch into static lines (visible at rest). This is usually somewhere in the mid-30s but varies widely by genetics, skin type, and sun exposure. Dr Valentina will honestly tell you if you do not yet need treatment — many consultation patients are told to come back in two years.

What is the difference between anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers?

Anti-wrinkle injections relax muscles to reduce dynamic wrinkles (lines that appear with movement). Dermal fillers restore lost volume or enhance features (they are not used for forehead lines). The two are complementary, not alternatives — many patients have both for different concerns. If you are unsure which you need, the Valentina Session includes a structured diagnostic and written plan.

Can I combine anti-wrinkle injections with other treatments?

Yes. Anti-wrinkle and dermal fillers are often done in the same appointment. Microneedling and chemical peels should be spaced at least 2 weeks before or after anti-wrinkle injections. Laser resurfacing should be spaced 4 weeks either side. Profhilo can be done on the same day as anti-wrinkle injections with no issue.

How many units will I need?

Dr Valentina prices by area, not by unit, so you pay a fixed price regardless of dose. For clinical context: forehead typically uses 8–12 units of Botox (24–36 of Dysport), glabella 18–25 units, crow's feet 10–15 units per side. Starting doses are at the conservative end of these ranges, with adjustment at the 2-week review based on your response.

Is there downtime?

Functionally none. You can return to work, drive, and resume light activity immediately. Pinpoint bleeds at injection sites may appear for 20 to 60 minutes. Occasional small bruises can take 3 to 5 days to resolve — these can be covered with makeup after 4 hours. Avoid heavy exercise and alcohol for 24 hours.

How often should I have treatments?

Most patients settle into a rhythm of every 4 months for the first year, then every 5 to 6 months as treated muscles weaken with consistent treatment. Dr Valentina does not book automatic recurring appointments — each treatment is assessed on its own merits, and some patients skip cycles when life is quiet or stress is low.
